Foreward

It has been said that money can't buy happiness.  While this is certainly true, the security a little savings can provide can do wonders to eliminate anxiety, worry, a lack of self worth, stress, marital tensions, and general foul moodedness.  I've been there.

In my early to mid twenties I lived what I thought was a normal life. I had a decent job, a small but comfortable house, a fairly inexpensive vehicle, and what I considered to be the basic necessities of life (TV, internet, etc.)  I never thought I lived an extravagant lifestyle, but nonetheless things quickly got out of hand.  Our family income wasn't enough to cover our expenses and before long we were living pay check to pay check and using our credit cards more excessively for daily needs like food and clothing.

Bankruptcy and divorce soon followed and my perfect life was soon in shambles.  I lived in my car for a month in the middle of a chilly Missouri winter
